On Opening Day last year, San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow was beaten into a coma in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium after a Dodgers-Giants game. Stow suffered brain damage, and is expected to be handicapped for the rest of his life.
For months the LAPD looked for suspects in the attack, to no avail. Then last summer, they arrested two men, Marvin Norwood and his fiancee's brother, Louie Sanchez. Norwood and Sanchez have proclaimed their innocence ever since, but they may have problems maintaining that stance after a transcript of a conversation they had after landing in jail was released yesterday. The highlights include the pair conceding that the police "know everything, bro" and that they expected to get "a lot" of time for the beating, as well as a section where the would be brothers-in-law concoct a scheme to blame the fight on a group of "big white dudes." It turns out that Norwood and Sanchez were first implicated in the crime by Sanchez's 10-year-old son, whom they call "stupid" in the transcript.
Yup, you guys are winners all over.
