According to the NFL network’s Tom Pelissero, the San Francisco 49ers reached out to the Packers with a trade offer, but according to his sources say there is “zero percent chance” the Packers trade Rodgers.

The #49ers reached out to the #Packers on Wednesday about trading for Aaron Rodgers, but no formal offer was made and a source said there is a “zero percent chance” that Green Bay deals the reigning NFL MVP.

Fox NFL reporter Jay Glazer doubled down on Schefter’s initial report as well, saying that it appears Rodgers is “strongly convicted” to not returning to the Packers.

Aaron told Packers he doesn’t want to return as @AdamSchefter said and I think it’s more than a contract deal, I think he’s pretty strongly convicted that he doesn’t want to go back to Packers.

Meanwhile, Trey Wingo reports that he Packers told Rodgers they would trade him this off season. According to Wingo, Rodgers has said that he’s not returning either way.

Sources: The Packers reportedly told Aaron Rodgers they were going to trade him in the off season, then backed off. It’s been a bleep show between them ever since. And within the last week Rodgers told the team.. trade or no trade I’m not coming back. Buckle up folks

The reigning MVP was drafted by the Packers in 2005 and has been with the team for his entire storied career. Last year, they ended the season with a 13-3 record and finished first in the NFC North. Their season ended with a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship. The Buccaneers, led by Tom Brady, would go on to win the Super Bowl.

On Monday, Rapoport summed up the ongoing situation, and reported that the 2020 release of wide receiver Jake Kumerow didn’t sit well with Rodgers.

This comes after Rodger’s first public appearance since news of the rift broke. He was spotted at the Kentucky Derby over the weekend, where he addressed the situation. While he reporteldy declined an interview with NBC’s Mike Tirico, Rodgers did tell him that he was “disappointed that news has come out of this rift with the Packers” but that he “loves Green Bay, loves the fans, loves the franchise.”
