Freshman Florida Gators QB Treon Harris was suspended from the team today as a result of the investigation currently taking for Harris' alleged sexual assault of a female student early Sunday morning. Today, the University of Florida and the Gainesville, FL police department released separate statements explaining the matter.

Given the scandals currently surrounding the NFL, as well as in the NCAA for the accusations of sexual assault weighed against Jameis Winston last year, it is likely that Harris' case will be approached with a great deal of scrutiny.
Last Saturday, Harris came off the bench to help the Gators to a 10-9 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville, TN. It is unknown whether he will appear in Florida's upcoming game against LSU this Saturday.
