Tonight the "No Fun League," has decided to become the "Slightly Fun League," by allowing (for the first time) Draft picks to come onstage to their music of choice. While it's kind of like being a kid who's allowed to watch his first PG-13 movie (at age 14) by a strict grandparent, it's definitely a start to chilling the 'f' out. While we have absolutely no idea what they'll be playing, here's our "best guess." And by "best guess," we mean big hits meant to appeal to a wide ranging audience. Kind of like the NFL.
Khalil Mack
Song: Mark Morrison - Return of the Mack
Though he's not technically "returning" anywhere, this is still a no-brainer. If there was a song called "Return of the Evans" I would never not walk into a room without it.
Jimmy Garoppolo
Song: Drake - Started From the Bottom
When you come out of Eastern Illinois, you got to build your name. Tony Romo did it in the past and now it's Garoppolo's turn. But that's not why we want to see it. We just want to see another quarterback make a public play for Drake's affection just to see this look.
Timmy Jernigan
Song: The Chordettes - Mr. Sandman
Does anybody remember him looking tired and gasping for wind during the National Title Game? Well, if you do, this slide would make a lot more sense.
Odell Beckham
Song: Wiz Khalifa - Black and Yellow
Let's see if the mock drafts nail this one. Though we'd rather hear this if he got picked by, say, the Jaguars or something.
Teddy Bridgewater
Song: Eminem - Lose Yourself
He's falling down draft boards. Time to put the "They doubted me," cliche into music form.
Greg Robinson
Song: Big Pun feat. Joe - Still Not a Player
Just don't listen to any of the lyrics except for "I just crush a lot." By the way make sure you get the "I just crush a lot" version. Because...there's a pretty substantial difference.
Blake Bortles
Song: David Guetta ft. Akon - Sexy Chick
Why it works: His girlfriend is really hot.
Why it doesn't work: He's not approaching his girlfriend. He's approaching this guy.
Acutally, you know what? It works with both of them.
Sammy Watkins
Song: Duane Eddy - Rebel Rouser
At first we were going to go with "Whip My Hair" and then we saw somebody on Twitter already made that observation. So we just took the music from Forrest Gump running real fast. Because Sammy Watkins...is fast.
Jadeveon Clowney
Song: Notorious B.I.G. ft. Mase and Puff Daddy - Mo Money Mo Problems
"I'm So Paid," would work for the potential No. 1 overall pick. So would "Get Money." So would a billion other songs. When in doubt go with the classics. And if you want to feel old, Jadeveon Clowney was four years old when this came out.
Johnny Manziel
Song: Anything by Drake
There really is no wrong answer here. Except maybe "Worst Behavior." We'll go with "Draft Day" though Manziel might want to go with the radio edit. If you're not going to use that song today, when are you ever going to use it?
