Dana White Confirms Conor McGregor Will Appear on 'Game of Thrones' (UPDATE)

Dana White appeared on Fox Sports Live on Tuesday and confirmed that Conor McGregor will make an appearance on a future episode of Game of Thrones. "I knew that a few months ago, that they were interested in putting him in the show, and I’m glad he did it," he said. "It’ll be great. The show is huge. It’s awesome, and I’m excited for him."

Conor McGregor isn't scheduled to appear in the UFC's Octagon anytime soon, but he could be making an appearance on HBO's Game of Thrones sometime in the near future, according to Belfast-based media outlet The Sunday Life. The UFC's biggest/loudest star has reportedly agreed to appear in one of the show's final two seasons. "It’s been agreed that McGregor will appear in one of the remaining two seasons of Game Of Thrones," The Sunday Life is reporting, as transcribed by Metro. "He was headhunted as it were by HBO, as one of the Game Of Thrones directors is a huge UFC fan. They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show."

Thus far, there have been six seasons of HBO's mega-hit series, with two more seasons slated to drop before the series ends. Season 7 is expected to run during the summer of 2017, with filming of the show frequently taking place in McGregor's hometown of Dublin, Ireland. So it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for McGregor to appear on the show without disrupting his life too much.

In previous McGregor/GoT crossover news, McGregor once sparred with Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, a.k.a. The Mountain, in a video that racked up more than 22 million views after it was posted on Halloween 2015. Whether you'll get to see a re-do of that scene, with far greater production values, remains to be seen:

As with all rumors, especially those involving Conor McGregor, you should proceed with caution. Just don't be too shocked if you see him make an appearance before the series ends. It seems a hell of a lot more likely than him ever getting into a boxing ring to fight Floyd Mayweather.
