The Houston Texans have evidently decided to let go of their superstar wide receiver as reports are saying DeAndre Hopkins has been traded to the Arizona Cardinals.

The trade is reportedly still being finalized, but the two main pieces include Hopkins and running back David Johnson. Sources tell ESPN the Cardinals will receive Hopkins and a late-round pick in exchange for Johnson and a second-round pick.

Framework of trade still being finalized, sources tell ESPN:

🏈Cardinals get DeAndre Hopkins and a late-round pick.

🏈Texans get David Johnson and a second-round pick.

Other picks involved, but Hopkins wanted a new deal that Arizona can provide.

The 27-year-old Hopkins is one of the NFL's most prolific wideouts. Last season, Hopkins recorded seven touchdowns, 104 receptions, and 1,165 yards en route to being named a First-Team All-Pro and Pro-Bowl receiver. Hopkins has been to the Pro Bowl four times since entering the NFL seven years ago. He also led the league in touchdowns in 2017 and was named an All-Pro (either first or second team) receiver four times.

The Cardinals' Chase Edmonds was enthusiastic about the development on Twitter:

Yooooo finally. We got a whole ass armed robbery😂😂😂😂😂😂

Johnson has not been as accomplished as Hopkins throughout his career. Although he was selected to the Pro Bowl and named an All-Pro back in 2016, last season wasn't as productive as the Cardinals would have hoped. Despite playing in 13 games, Johnson only raked in 345 yards and two touchdowns. The difference in production has fans wondering what pushed Houston to make this move.

Huh??? The Texans trading DeAndre Hopkins!?

Bill O’Brien the coach, needs to go slap the hell out of Bill O’Brien the GM, immediately!!!

I love how Bill O’Brien used the slowest sports news cycle ever to trade DeAndre Hopkins and successfully piledrive his own approval rating into the Earth’s core

I am no longer rocking with the @HoustonTexans in any way, shape, or form. Not my team. Not my squad.

Go continue to be great @DeAndreHopkins — Houston loves you https://t.co/V5gD5njPaW

This trade might have confused some fans in Houston, but the Cardinals faithful have hit the jackpot. Hopkins will pair up with future Hall of Fame receiver Larry Fitzgerald. This gives the young, talented Kyler Murray two trusted targets as his game matures.

Kyler Murray now has Larry Fitzgerald and DeAndre Hopkins.

They have a combined 2,010 career receptions.

Overall, Hopkins feels pretty good about it, using a Future meme to describe his mood.
