Taveras was one of the top prospects in all of baseball, and is a guy we’ve had our eye on for quite a while. He hit .239 in 248 plate appearances with the Cardinals this season, and in the NLCS against the Giants had a game-tying, pinch-hit home run in the 7th inning of Game 2.
He was just 22 years old.
