It's been another momentous week for Lionel Messi and adidas just made it a little bit sweeter.
To celebrate Messi's record-breaking fifth Ballon d'Or win, adidas have just unveiled the Platinum Messi 15 – a one-of-a-kind silo that uses real platinum on a boot for the first time ever.
Messi and his new signature boot are at the front and centre of adidas' latest campaign, 'I'm here to create', which remembers Messi's most jaw-dropping moments on a football pitch.
The platinum boot design is based on the current in-line Messi15 model and uses pearlescent Argentinian premium leather, enhanced with pure metallic platinum elements. The Messi logo and the adidas logo are both made out of real platinum, and the back of the boot is embossed with four gold and one platinum embellished dots to commemorate Messi's record haul of Ballon d'Or titles.
The logos on the boot are made from real platinum.
The Spanish phrase found on the insole of the boot "el más grande de todos los tiempos" means "the greatest of all time".
Messi's five Ballon d'Ors are celebrated inside the boot.
Expect to see Messi debuting the boot against Espanyol this evening.
