Youth Football Coach Attacked by Parent After He Cancels Team's Season Because of Poor Sportsmanship

This story is dripping in irony.

After a recent American Youth Football game in Toms River, N.J., the coach of the Toms River Indians told his team that he was canceling the rest of their season. It seems he didn't like the bad attitudes that the players were exhibiting and wanted to teach them a lesson about good sportsmanship. So he told them to hand in their equipment and to leave.

His plan ended up backfiring, though, once the father of one of his players found out what the coach had said. According to local police, 46-year-old Joseph Oleske ran across the field and, without any warning, tackled the coach to the ground. He later claimed that the coach was the one who had taken "an aggressive stance" with him and that he had acted in self-defense when he tackled him. But after speaking with several witnesses, police arrested Oleske and charged him with simple assault.

SMH. Way to set a good example, dad!
