At this point, Steph Curry is pretty much the mayor of the entire Bay Area. People there loved him even before he won the NBA MVP award and helped the Warriors hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy. But now that he’s an NBA champion? Forget about it. The guy is a god.
With that in mind, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear that one fan yelled “CURRY FOR PRESIDENT!” when the Warriors met with President Obama during a Democratic fundraiser last weekend. Warriors beat writer Diamond Leung asked Curry about it earlier this week—and he joked that he’s going to “let Kanyetake over first” before he decides to run:
