Oh, what a difference five years makes. Five years ago, David Stern probably wanted to take Ron Artest into the middle of the desert with a shovel Goodfellas-style and Joe Pesci the shit out of him for his role in the Malice at the Palace. These days? Well, Ron-Ron is an NBA champion and—apparently!—a model citizen now that the Professional Basketball Writers Association has nominated him for the 2011 J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award for his role in helping to raise awareness about mental health issues over the course of the last year. Safe to say another shout out to his psychiatrist is in order?
