Last month, ESPN released a report that seemed to indicate that Jameis Winston had signed hundreds and hundreds of items for a memorabilia dealer earlier this year in exchange for money. Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher denied the report at the time and said that Winston told him he had not signed the items for the dealer. But FSU also promised to look into the allegations made in the ESPN piece. And according to The Palm Beach Post, they've talked to Winston about it and found out some new information.

The Palm Beach Post spoke to a source recently who told them that Winston is claiming that James Spence Authentication—the company mentioned in the ESPN report—authenticated a bunch of autographs that are actually forgeries. The Palm Beach Post report doesn't mention how many of the autographs are allegedly forgeries. But it does mention that Winston was able to point out quite a few autographs that were fake. It also mentions that one of JSA's competitors PSA/DNA refused to authenticate the autographs due to concerns over their legitimacy.

You can read the entire Palm Beach Post report here. If it turns out to be true, Winston might be off the hook with regards to the autograph scandal.
