Over the course of the last five years, Florida amateur boxer Darrell Telisme squared off against fellow boxer Stan Stanisclasse on a number of occasions inside the ring. Last Wednesday night, the men also fought outside of the ring during a street fight near a pizza shop in West Palm Beach, Fla. But each and every time they fought, the 24-year-old Stanisclasse got the better of the 23-year-old Telisme. So according to police, Telisme visited Stanisclasse at his home at around 4 a.m. last Thursday and shot and killed him.

It’s unclear exactly what Telisme’s motive was, but police believe that the loss he took in the street fight hours before Stanisclasse’s death may have played a part in it. According to their investigation, Telisme walked into a boxing gym called Elite Boxing in 2010 and challenged Stanisclasse, the best boxer in the gym at the time, to a fight. However, he lost that fight as well as a handful of other fights to him. And police believe he may have held a grudge against Stanisclasse, which resulted in him allegedly shooting him.

Telisme was arrested a short time after the shooting and charged with first-degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon. What an incredibly senseless crime.
