Once in a while, we're reminded that Russell Westbrook is a human cheat code. Tonight, Dirk Nowitzki was rudely confronted with that reality.
With Westbrook's Thunder up nine on the road at Dallas in the second quarter, Dirk got a nice feed from Raymond Felton and leapt toward the basket for what looked like an open layup – until the cheat code chased him from behind and said, "no, no, no."
Poor Dirk. Dude is battling hard against Father Time. A few weeks ago, he implied he had considered retirement. In the meantime, his Mavericks are fighting to stay in their series with the heavily favored No. 3 seed, Oklahoma City. It's currently knotted at one game apiece.
In other Thunder news, The Vertical reported former OKC coach Scott Brooks has agreed to become the new Washington Wizards' head coach.
