Isaiah Thomas Jokes About Cavs Getting Swept on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Isaiah Thomas doesn't think his former team has much reason for hope.

On the day the NBA Finals began, former Cleveland Cavalier Isaiah Thomas took a side: he was rooting for his former squad. Why? Who knows? Maybe because he wants a championship ring, or maybe he genuinely liked some of his teammates—though that certainly didn't seem to be the case.

It appears, however, that Isaiah has given up hope on the Cavs winning it all. After Golden State jumped to a 2-0 lead with a beatdown in Game 2 (thanks largely to Steph Curry's second-half explosion), most—including Thomas—are writing off Cleveland.

During an appearance with the other Isiah Thomas on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday, Isaiah joked that the Cavs were bound to be swept.

The two Thomases engaged in a game Kimmel's show calls "Generation Gap." As I.T. struggled with the game, he quipped, "I'm like the Cavs. I'm gonna get swept."

Isaiah was a cornerstone of the August deal that sent Kyrie Irving to the Celtics. I.T.'s time in Cleveland, however, was riddled with drama. The Cavs management went gangbusters with transactions at the trade deadline, completely overhauling the roster and in the process shipping Isaiah to the Lakers.

Thomas played better with L.A. than he did with Cleveland, but he still looked like a shadow of his former self. Now the 29-year-old is facing free agency, and it's hard to imagine any team will be confident enough in his health to offer him a long-term deal.
