Ryan Shazier's recovery continues to be remarkable. The Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker who suffered a spinal injury in December 2017 danced at his wedding on Friday night.
A brief clip shows Shazier dancing with his wife to Montell Jordan, an incredible feat considering his injury initially left him paralyzed from the waist down.
Shazier has spent the interim year and change undergoing spinal surgery, re-learning how to walk and constantly training with the hopes to one day play football again.
The 26-year-old regularly shares updates on his progress to social media and the Steelers have made it clear that they are willing to wait out his recovery. The team placed him on injured reserve for the coming season so that they can keep him on their team while they wait for him to return to full strength. They brought Shazier along for a game against the Cincinnati Bengals last season and Shazier gave a speech on the field where he suffered his terrifying injury to let everyone know he was on the right track.
"Coming back is kind of scary sometimes, so I’m actually happy to be here and see everyone’s face and I just want to let you guys know that I’m doing really well and I’m thankful," Shazier said.
