Tonight was a special milestone in Paul Pierce's career, as his No. 34 jersey retirement ceremony was held in Boston's TD Garden. But part of the evening partly belonged to a hilarious viral moment—and it's all thanks to Kevin Garnett.
The former NBA All-Star was in attendance to support his friend, yet it was his fashion choice that had everyone on Twitter in awe. Garnett's outfit was simple: a black hoodie with matching black jeans and leather sneakers. But all eyes were on the magical abilities of his hood that never once fell off his head. So how in the world did it manage to remain intact despite being positioned so far behind Garnett's crown? Well, of course, Twitter came up with a bunch of theories. Many agreed the hood defied the laws of physics:
Other basketball stars who supported Pierce at his ceremony following the Celtics' 121-99 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers included Rajon Rondo (who was also clowned on Twitter for rocking Velcro sneakers to the game), former Celtics coach Doc Rivers, Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck and Antoine Walker. So where was Ray Allen?
Oh, he was busy playing a round of golf with George Lopez. It's all good though. Pierce and Allen officially ended their five-year beef back in September. "Time to get the band back together @trayfour #burythehatchet @tic_pix @rajonrondo no matter what happen we all formed a special bond that can never b broken #onceacelticalwaysaceltic," Pierce captioned a photo of the pair together.
