The Internet can be a dark place, but every now and then it creates profound, connective moments that make you believe in humanity again, if even for a few brief moments. WARNING: If you’re anything like me (re: you cry at insurance commercials), get your tissues ready, because this story will give you all kinds of feels. Last year, a story was going around about high school school basketball player from Baltimore, Charles Thompson Jr., who gave a special needs student and WWE fan name Shanquis an NTX title belt for Christmas. The video went viral, bringing some much needed joy into the hearts of many, including the WWE, which took notice of the good deed.

On Sunday, Charles and Shanquis were invited as guests of the WWE to the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia. WWE shared a video of the young men backstage, where they got to meet some 25 of the WWE’s big-timers, per Charles’ tweets from backstage. The star-studded meet-and-greet included the likes of Triple H, Roman Reigns, Barron Corbin, John Cena, The Maharaja, Bayley, Sarah Logan, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens. However, the most impactful presence was that of Shanquis himself, who was clearly elated to be there. It may be the end of January, but it’s never too late to start the New Year off right with this heartwarming video. Let’s keep the generosity and gratitude flowing in 2018, shall we?
