NBA Referee Suspended After Getting Into It With Shaun Livingston

Both Shaun Livingston and NBA ref Courtney Kirkland were suspended for a brief altercation they had Sunday evening.

On Sunday night Warriors veteran backup guard Shaun Livingston got into an altercation with referee Courtney Kirkland that made for an intense (and fantastic) image even though it only lasted for a second or two:

The very minor clash was a result of Livingston not getting a call. After a league review of the play, the NBA stated that their official was partially responsible for the contact because he moved toward Livingston. Because of that he was disciplined along with Shaun.

As a result of the forehead bump, Livingston will be suspended for Monday night's game against the Pelicans (apparently he was resting anyway) and Kirkland will be out of the officiating rotation for a week:

Kirkland will be eligible to return Monday, December 11.
