With Election Day just over a month away, LeBron James has asserted his support for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

In an op-ed published in Business Insider on Sunday, King James details why he believes Clinton is suited for the presidency. He discussed in the op-ed how basketball gave him his sense of community during his upbringing as a poor kid growing up in single parent household in his native Akron, OH.

I also tell all my kids how important it is that they give back to the community. Because if basketball has taught me anything, it’s that no one achieves greatness alone. And it takes everyone working together to create real change.

He also wrote how his charity foundations (Wheels For Education and Akron I PROMISE program) have the same values as Clinton's. He stated, "Like my foundation, Hillary has always been a champion for children and their futures. For over 40 years, she’s been working to improve public schools, expand access to health care, support children’s hospitals, and so much more."

James now adds himself to the list of legendary athletes who are endorsing Clinton including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Alex Rodriguez, Jason Kidd, Magic Johnson, Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Brown, tennis icon Billie Jean King, and retired U.S. Women's National Team soccer player Abby Wambach.
