What began as a blowout ended in a really messy situation that felt built for social media. For most of the game, the Warriors were getting their asses handed to them by LeBron James and the Bronettes. Then Steph Curry and the boys went on a run towards the end of the third quarter to cut a 20-point lead to single digits in the beginning of the fourth. However, Golden State's momentum was thwarted by two bullshit calls. The first came when a foul was called after Steph picked Kyrie Irving's pocket with nothing but open floor ahead of him. The second came when James flopped (per usual) as he and Curry fought for the ball, sending the 2016 MVP into a mouthpiece-throwing frenzy.
Said thrown mouthpiece hit a fan who happened to be the son of minority Cavs owner Nate Forbes. If you watch the clip, homie had it coming. He was demonstrative towards Steph and ended up catching a hot one in the grill.
We took screenshots of the whole affair to provide the in-depth analysis the culture deserves. We try to do God's work as much as possible over here at Complex. Check out our frame-by-frame breakdown of Steph Curry throwing his mouthpiece and hitting the son of a Cleveland Cavalier owner.
