After a weird Raw that featured Sting throwing Seth Rollins' statue in a garbage truck and Xavier Woods playing Final Fantasy themes on the trombone, the WWE traveled to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania (the town where Mr. McMahon's limo infamously exploded) for this week's edition of Smackdown.
While there isn't word of whether these matches were actually fire (and with two of them ending in no contests, we can only imagine), it looks like storylines were actually progressed, which is something. Here are the spoilers for this week's WWE Smackdown:
- The show opens with The Wyatt Family doing an interview, and recapping their attack on Randy Orton
- Cesaro beat The Miz using the Sharpshooter
- Renee Young interviewed Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns with Jimmy Uso
- Paige and Sasha Banks fought to a no contest; the rest of Team PCB and Team BAD were kicked out from ringside, and Paige and Sahsa brawled with a bunch of referees trying to break them up. PCB and BAD all came out and everyone brawled.
- Seth Rollins spoke about Sting destroying his statue, only to be interrupted by Sheamus
- The New Day and Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, & Jimmy Uso battled to a no contest after being interrupted by the Wyatt Family, who ended up laying out Jimmy Uso.
- The Ascension beat The Lucha Dragons. Neville came out after the match.
- Renee Young interviewed Team Bella and Charlotte confronted Nikki Bella
- Seth Rollins defeated Ryback in a lumberjack match. Word is Big Show attacked Ryback, with Mark Henry then attacking Big Show. The Lucha Dragons AND Neville did a moonsault onto the heel lumberjack team, followed by Rollins hitting Ryback with the pedigree
And that's about it. Seems to be pretty involved in terms of building up to Night of Champions, which goes down in a few weeks.
