Some athletes never move beyond high school sports, but while they’re playing, they give it their all in the name of achieving victory and building character. Others might go on to higher levels of play in college, or—for a select few—at a professional level.
No matter where they end up, those years will forever hold a place in any athlete’s heart. In high school, competition is at its purest. There are no contracts to worry about. Playing sports is not a full-time job. It’s a passion. The game is just about the game, and it’s why so many look back on these years with longing. These are the days like no other.
