Rajon Rondo Owned the Celtics in His Return Game

Maybe the day will come when the Celtics will look back on the Rajon Rondo trade and think, "Yeah, we'd definitely do the same thing again." Jan. 2 is not that day.

Tonight was Rondo's first time back at the TD Garden after being traded. The Rondo Show ensued. The guard scored a season-high 29 points in the Mavericks' 119-101 win. He also shot an excellent .632 percentage (12-19) while making five three-pointers for the first time in his career.

This came after receiving a standing ovation and a video tribute from his former home crowd—which you can see above. Hopefully that display of love continues when they're watching Rondo in the playoffs.
