Texas A&M Student Assistant Hits West Virginia Players on Sideline, Gets Sent Back to Locker Room

What a cheap shot.

Texas A&M is playing a hell of a ballgame against West Virginia in the Liberty Bowl right now. They entered the game as an underdog. But they currently hold the lead over the Mountaineers. However, regardless of whether they win or lose, the biggest story that's going to come out of the game actually involves an Aggies student assistant named Michael Richardson who isn't even involved in the action out on the field.

Richardson has forced his way into the game's headlines by taking not one, but two cheap shots on WVU players during the Liberty Bowl. In the Vine above, you can see him punch a West Virginia player in the back of the head at the tail end of a play. And below, you can see him throw an elbow and a shoulder into a WVU player on another play. Both hits were completely unnecessary and forced A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin to send Richardson back to the locker room in the middle of the game.

What was this guy thinking?
