Emile Heskey wants to come back to the Premier League and give goal shy Leicester City the firepower needed to save them from relegation. No, he's not joking.

The striker, who earned 62 England caps and played in two World Cups for his country, is already an ambassador for Leicester City but insists he can offer the club a lot more on the pitch. He's been without a club since leaving Australian club Newcastle Jets earlier this year.

Speak to BBC Radio Leicester, Heskey was asked whether he'd consider a first team return:

"It goes without saying, I'd love to come. It is a great club that allowed me to get to the platform that I got to. They have got a decent squad there, they just need that little pick me up, a little confidence."

Emile Heskey thinks he can give Leicester the goals they need.

Heskey scored 46 goals for the Foxes between 1994 and 2000 and netted a total of 110 Premier League strikes during his other spells at Liverpool, Birmingham, Wigan and Aston Villa.

Leicester have a duty to bring back one of the Premier League's biggest cult heroes.
