Playing for the final time in a big league uniform, Derek Jeter legged out an RBI infield single in the third inning of the Yankees’ game against the Red Sox, and was then replaced for a pinch runner. It brings to an end one of the great careers in the history of the game, one that saw The Captain become the Yankees’ all-time leader in numerous categories as he played a remarkable 19 MLB seasons.
