For the sake of a clever nickname, Paul George may alter his number from 24 to 13.

If you own a No. 24 jersey of Indiana Pacers star forward Paul George, you may want to get rid of it. And don't worry, George isn't going to dealt...as far as we know. Instead, the 24-year-old—ironic, no?—has reportedly received the OK from the NBA to change to the No. 13 in March, as long as he abides by league rules and buys all the remaining No. 24 unis from the marketplace. Now, if you're wondering why he has made the change, look no further than either Bill Simmons or Jimmy Kimmel who may have planted a seed in George's head about the idea of assuming the nickname "PG-13."

Back in May 2013, Simmons wrote a piece which suggested the PG-13 moniker:

"He should change his number immediately from No. 24 to No. 13. Here's why ... can you think of anyone being helped by a nickname more than Paul George suddenly becoming PG-13? 'Uh-oh, PG-13 is heating up!' 'Warning, this game contains strong language, violence and a possible heat check!' 'We might have to make this performance rated R -- it's too hot to handle!' Let's make this happen already."

In January, Kimmel brought up the nickname and George seemed to like the idea, saying, "That's got a ring to it, PG-13." And since then, PG-13 has subtly started referencing the alias with the hashtag #trece or #YoungTrece, which is Spanish for thirteen, in his Twitter bio and tweets, respectively.

What do you think of the nickname? And hey, while we're on the topic of PG-13, you know what isn't "PG-13"?
