While many in the tennis world are forecasting a Novak Djokovic vs. Roger Federer US Open Final, the event’s dark horse might be fifth seeded Milos Raonic. The 6’ 5” Canadian reached the Open’s fourth round in 2013, and—thanks in large part to his 150 MPH serve—he’s made a monumental climb in the ATP rankings (he’s currently holding down the No. 6 spot).
Prior to the 2014 US Open, which begins on Monday, Raonic saved some time for Complex News during a New Balance event at Vanderbilt Tennis Club. Raonic opened up about everything from the secret to his devastating serve to the pain and embarrassment of getting hit in the man region with a tennis ball during play. Check it out.
