Kareem Abdul-Jabbar isn't the only former Lakers star who will be honored by the team during the 2012-13 NBA season. It might not be quite as awesome as getting your own statue, like Kareem, but the Lakers have also decided to make Shaquille O'Neal just the ninth player in Lakers history to have his uniform number No. 34 retired by the team. He'll join Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Gail Goodrich, Magic Johnson, Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy, Jerry West, and Jamaal Wilkes (who will have his number retired in December) in the rafters at the Staples Center. The retirement ceremony will take place on April 2. Definitely well deserved.
