A LaserShip warehouse manager in Charlotte, North Carolina has been charged in connection with a series of missing Nike orders that were shipped to the warehouse but never arrived at their intended destinations.
According to Jason Stoogenke at WSOC-TV, Charlotte police have charged Jarvas Foster with felony larceny by employee after dozens of Nike orders arrived at the shipping company’s warehouse but failed to make their way to the intended customers. Authorities believed that Foster took 11 pairs of Nike sneakers and that he had at least one accomplice.
Stoogenke initially reached out to LaserShip in March specifically about the missing Nike orders and the company said “It takes allegations of theft very seriously. If reported, these allegations are investigated and handled on a case-by-case basis.” More than 40 customers reached out to Stoogenke complaining about their missing Nike orders, with more than 28 of them saying that they ordered “Special Nikes,” but specific details behind the products weren’t shared.
Stoogenke said that LaserShip launched its own internal investigation into the missing Nike orders and concluded that Foster was stealing from them. The shipping company also said it has video evidence from two different sources to back up its claims.
