With all eyes on the NCAA Tournament, Jordan Brand has tapped one of its recent signees to debut an all-new Jordan sneaker.

During today’s Sweet 16 matchup between the UCLA Bruins and the top-seeded South Carolina Gamecocks, UCLA guard Kiki Rice did the honors of giving the Air Jordan 38 it’s first run on the court. A look at Rice wearing the unreleased sneaker was shared on the UCLA women’s basketball’s Instagram story prior to tip-off, with the caption saying “@Jumpman23 is up to something …. and @kiki.rice is testing them out.”

The mid-top sneaker dons a white-based upper with black overlay panels near the mudguard and extended up to the ankle. The model’s cushioning setup is unknown at the moment.

Rice was named Gatorade’s 2021–22 National Girls Basketball Player of the Year and was one of the highest-rated recruits prior to attending UCLA last fall. Jordan Brand signed Rice as its first NIL athlete in October, adding her to a decorated roster of women athletes currently signed with the brand. The Air Jordan 38 is expected to release in several colorways this holiday season for $200.
