It's happening.

October 21, 2015. That's the date that Michael J. Fox's character Marty McFly traveled through time in Back To The Future Part 2 and donned the Nike MAG.

Rumors have been swirling all year that the shoes would return for 2015, and many have pegged the unofficial "Back to the Future" day as the release date. Nike has been tight-lipped ever since Tinker Hatfield confirmed that a power-lacing Nike MAG would release during All Star Weekend in 2014. But, that silence was broken tonight when Nike's official Twitter account sent a tweet out to Marty McFly himself, which garnered an interesting response from Heidi Burgett, Nike's PR director.

Check out the conversation below, and keep it locked to Sole Collector for the latest information on the Nike MAG 2015.

UPDATE 10/21, 10:22 a.m.:  Multiple sources on Twitter have said that there's a pair of the self-lacing Marty McFly shoes in NYC now. In addition, Sole Collector reached out to a representative at Nike who said that, "The first pair of self-lacing Nike Mag shoes is in New York City."

UPDATE 10/21, 2:14 p.m.: Michael J. Fox posted the below photo on Twitter of a letter that Nike MAG designer Tinker Hatfield sent him. The letter mentions that the sneakers will return in 2016 as a charity release for the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

UPDATE 10/21, 3:06 p.m.: Michael J. Fox just showed off the new, presumably self-lacing version of the Nike MAG for the first time ever via the Twitter account of his Michael J. Fox Foundation. The tweet confirms that the sneakers are coming for Spring 2016.
