Even as a 25 year old retro, the Asics Gel-Lyte III is unquestionably a running silhouette. The split-tongue design and predominantly mesh construction just screams runner, but the Japanese brand has decided to try something different this season.
The Asics Gel-Lyte MT is essentially a high top recreation of the Gel-Lyte III, complete with a sock-like inner bootie and updated outsole tread. Outside, the rest of the Gel-Lyte MT's upper retains the signature cues of the Gel-Lyte III, while extra insulation has been added to keep things cozy this winter.
Sites like Asphaltgold have listed the sneakers as coming soon in two colorways; "Grey" and "India Ink." They're expected to drop this month, however a U.S. release has not been confirmed.
