You already know that the "Bred" Jordan XI IE Lows are set for a comeback, but what if we told you that the unreleased "Referee" version — unveiled by Chris Paul earlier this week at Team USA's practice — is set to release for the first time ever?
Worn by NBA referees during the 1995-96 NBA season, this colorway was designed to meet the league's uniform regulations, which stated that refs must wear black sneakers. Unlike their "Bred" counterpart, this pair does not feature a red sockliner and is accented only on the tongue and outsole.
Up until now, this "Referee" XI IE Low has been seen as somewhat of a unicorn, with only a handful of sample pairs floating around since the mid-'90s. But now, judging by photos recently shared by @bigktheboss, it looks like they could be set for their first official release ever.
According to Sneaker Bar Detroit, these are slated for a September release for $170. Stay tuned for more.
