Nike Made a More Accessible Version of Its Breaking2 Shoe

Nike's Vapor Street Flyknit resembles the VaporFly Elite, but ditches ZoomX for React.

The takedown version of Nike Zoom VaporFly Elite runner, the Vapor Street Flyknit, is almost here.

A triple-black colorway of the shoe already released in Japan this past month, with one pair surfacing on Ebay for the wild and unreasonable price of $3,000. No need to overspend just yet, though: More are on the horizon, and a U.S. release should be happening in early 2018.

The model itself bears an obvious resemblance to the Zoom VaporFly Elite created for Nike's Breaking2 event. The upper is mostly the same and even sports a large Swoosh that extends onto the midsole like its predecessor. However, this pair is geared more for style and not performance. The Vapor Street Flyknit also opts for React foam cushioning instead of the ZoomX foam used in the running model.

While a U.S. release date still has yet to be made official, the university red pair is expected to hit Asian retailers like Invincible on Dec. 30.
