Another vintage tennis sneaker has been reissued by adidas Originals after nearly 30 years since its debut. The Edberg was the signature sneaker for professional tennis player Stefan Edberg, and the Three Stripes has brought back the famous model in an all-new colorway.
The Edberg 86 "Wimbledon" commemorates the storied tennis tournament where Edberg saw success, capturing two titles at the All England Club. The retro model takes from Wimbledon's signature logo and features a blend of mostly purple and green. The upper is made up of a predominantly dark purple suede with a tonal variation on its leather tongue, heel, and Three Stripes branding. To complete the Wimbledon theme, the tongue tab, embroidered with adidas' trefoil logo, is covered in a shade of green. Rounding out the overall colorway are neutral hits of white and grey on the Edberg's color-blocked midsole.
