Earlier in the day, adidas Originals announced that the Stefan Edberg tennis shoe would be making a return to coincide with this year's Wimbledon tournament. The vintage sneakers debuted in 1986 and quickly caught the eye of sneakerheads with its green and yellow accents. While the O.G. colorway is set to launch very soon, London's Footpatrol will be releasing its own iteration in collaboration with addias Originals' Consortium group.

Based on the teaser video that Footpatrol shared on its Instagram, the collab looks like it'll be an all-red suede sneaker—far different than the Edberg's white leather build.

An official release date is not yet known, but Footpatrol will be holding an in-store event on June 26, which is when the sneaker will most likely be unveiled to the public. For you O.G. sneakerheahds, we're sure all this talk about the Edberg re-release is a huge deal. Just don't sleep when the sneaker finally makes its return in the coming days.
