Last week, Sneaker Watch previewed a custom Trayvon Martin-inspired Air Jordan Is from the All Star Sneaker Summit. Now, we get a closer look at all the intricate details on this special sneaker that were designed by New York-based customizers Rich & Faded. These tribute Air Jordan Is were completely deconstructed and feature several exotic skins—stingray on the toe cap, snakeskin on the tongue and along the toe box, and alligator, shark, and lizard skin make up the rest of the side panels. The Air Jordan "Wings" logo on the collar is replaced with a laser engraving of Trayvon Martin with wings and the infamous "hoods up" imagery is embroidered on the tongue. Not only is the exterior of the sneaker filled with high-quality details, but the insoles also feature this same attention to detail with a custom graphic of Arizona Iced Tea and Skittles on grass—the crime scene from the case. Only 17 pairs of these Trayvon Martin-inspired Air Jordan Is were created and all proceeds will go towards the Trayvon Martin family.
