The 25 Best Sneakers Worn In The NBA All-Star Game

The annual NBA All-Star Weekend gives basketball fans a chance to see all of their favorite players on the court at the same time. Sure it's a show of high-flying dunks, no-look passes and killer crossovers, but the on-court kick game is as big as the actual athleticism. Over the years, we have witnessed a ton of very interesting, eye-catching kicks in the NBA All-Star Game, but which pair was the most intriguing? Player: Kobe Bryant

Year: 2001

Complex Says: There probably wasn't too much sunlight outside MCI Center in Washington DC in mid-February, but Kobe Bryant lit up the court with his "Sunshine" adidas The Kobe 1 while scoring 19 points in a loss to the East All Stars. It is an extremely rare pair of sneakers that can only be found when a random pair pops up on eBay.

Player: Rasheed Wallace

Year: 2008

Complex Says: Rasheed Wallace never had eye-popping stats in his All-Star Game appearances, but people have paid attention to his great selection of Nike Air Force 1 Highs year in and year out. He wore this White/Royal Blue, patent leather pair during the 2008 NBA All-Star Game, the same year Nike included Rasheed in the 1World Campaign.

Player: Michael Jordan

Year: 2003

Complex Says: The Air Jordan 18 White/Metallic Silver-Sport Royal holds a special place in Air Jordan enthusiasts' hearts, as it was the sneaker MJ wore in last NBA game and his last All-Star Game. Although MJ did not come away with an MVP trophy, he contributed 20 points and five boards.

Player: Kevin Durant

Year: 2010

Complex Says: Kevin Durant laced up the the 'Daring Red' Nike KD II, one of the most eye-catching sneakers, in the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. His 15-point, four-assist game wasn't enough to beat the East All Stars, but this sneaker was one of the most well-received All-Star sneakers of 2010. The Nike KD II "All Star" released just a few days before the 2010 NBA All-Star Game.

Player: Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony

Year: 2008

Complex Says: The NBA blessed the New Orleans fans with their first ever All-Star Game following the devastating Hurricane Katrina disaster. Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony sported their own special treat in the form of the special edition, player exclusive, Air Jordan XX3 "West All-Star". The aforementioned stars laced up these Air Jordan XX3s only in the second half of the game.

Player: Shaquille O'Neal

Year: 1996

Complex Says: Shaq turned many heads at the Alamodome by rocking the uniquely designed Reebok Shaqnosis. Out of all the superb sneakers worn in the 1996 NBA All-Star Game ("Columbia" Air Jordan 11, Reebok Kamikaze II, FILA Grant Hill II), Shaq's Reebok Shaqnosis easily captured the most eyes.

Player: Kobe Bryant

Year: 1998

Complex Says: Kobe Bryant played in the adidas KB8 during his first All-Star Game appearance in 1998. He was one of four Lakers to make it to the All-Star Game and the youngest of anybody there. Adidas is set to release a ton of Krazy 8s this year, but this pair will not return.

Player: Yao Ming

Year: 2003

Complex Says: Yao Ming participated in his first ever NBA All-Star Game in 2003. He was obviously noticed by everybody in the Phillips Arena thanks to his larger-than-life stature, but he brought even more attention to himself by rocking a Powder Blue colorway of the Nike Shox Supremacy. Did they match the red All-Star jerseys? No. Were they the talk of the 2003 NBA All-Star Game? Yes.

Player: Kobe Bryant

Year: 2008

Complex Says: Kobe Bryant did not log a lot of minutes in the 2008 NBA All-Star due to a torn ligament in his right pinky finger. However, when he did hit the court, his Red/Gold Nike Zoom Kobe III "All-Star" commanded attention. Nike Basketball released a very limited amount of these sneakers days after the game.

Player: Michael Jordan

Year: 1985

Complex Says: Michael Jordan was one of the few to make an All-Star Game appearance in his rookie season. Therefore, he sported the iconic Air Jordan 1, a shoe that started it all for many sneaker enthusiasts. He didn't put up Michael Jordan-esque numbers (seven points, six rebounds), but he definitely had the most head-turning shoes at the Hoosier Dome.

Player: Grant Hill

Year: 1996

Complex Says: The FILA Grant Hill II is the most recognizable and most well-received sneaker in Grant Hill's signature line. It is also one of the most successful sneakers in the history of footwear. Although it retroed in a slew of colorways between 2008 and 2009, this special edition, navy blue-based pair never made it back to retail. MJ's "Columbia" Air Jordan 11s may have overshadowed this sneaker moment, but it is still remembered by many.

Complex Says: Tracy McGrady's self pass, off-the-backboard dunk and Kobe Bryant's 31 point, 5 assist performance were the talk of the 2002 NBA All-Star Game, but as far as sneaker enthusiasts were concerned, Michael Jordans' Air Jordan 17 Low "Lightning" stole the show. It later released in the summer of 2002 to the excitement of many ’heads.

Player: Rasheed Wallace

Year: 2006

Complex Says: Rasheed Wallace was one of four players the Detroit Pistons sent to the 2006 NBA All-Star Game in Houston. As seen in this photo, he definitely wore the best sneaker in the form of his red, white and blue, ostrich skin-laced Nike Air Force 1 Hi PE, with the ankle straps hanging.

Player: Joe Johnson, Ray Allen, Richard Hamilton

Year: 2008

Complex Says: Jordan Brand athletes Joe Johnson, Ray Allen and Richard Hamilton helped the East All-Stars to a six-point win while sporting the player exclusive Air Jordan XX3 "East All-Stars". Unlike the Jordan Brand West All-Stars, the three previously mentioned Jordan Brand members all rocked different player exclusive versions of the Air Jordan XX3. They also wore these XX3s throughout the entire game.

Player: Tracy McGrady

Year: 2004

Complex Says: The 2004 NBA All-Star game is undoubtedly Tracy McGrady's most memorable sneaker moment. Los Angeles fans who attended the game at the Staples Center rooted for Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, but sneakerheads were freaking out over the mismatched adidas T-MAC IIIs McGrady wore in a four-point loss to the West All-Stars. He specifically wore one all-royal T-MAC III and one all-red T-MAC III; both contained a patent leather finish.

Player: LeBron James

Year: 2007

Complex Says: LeBron James brought graffiti to the streets of Las Vegas in the 2007 NBA All-Star Game. Sadly, his blue-based, graffiti-laced Nike Zoom LeBron IVs never made it to the stores. Although the West All-Stars won the game, James recorded 28 points, six rebounds, and six assists in these sought-after PEs.

Player: Mitch Richmond

Year: 1994

Complex Says: Besides Ray Allen, Mitch Richmond wore some of, if not the, nicest Air Jordan PEs ever. He wore a White/Black-Blue Air Jordan 9 PE in the 1994 NBA All-Star Game while contributing 10 points in a loss to the East All Stars.

Player: Shawn Kemp

Year: 1996

Complex Says: Shawn Kemp wore the Reebok Kamikaze II throughout the 1995-96 NBA season in a couple of colorways, but it was this special edition, White/Navy Blue All-Star version that garnered the most attention. The primarily white leather base, along with the Navy Blue zigzag design, was recognizable from atop the Alamodome.

Complex Says: The 1998 NBA All-Star Game marked the debut of Kobe Bryant as the youngest all-star in NBA history (19), but Michael Jordan stole the show by rocking the "Playoffs" Air Jordan 13 and taking home MVP honors. He scored 23 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out eight assists. Jordan Brand is set to re-release this shoe on February 26th, 2011, for $160.

Year: 2002

Complex Says: Chris Webber and DaDa shared their biggest moment in sneaker culture when these sneakers debuted during the 2002 NBA All-Star Game. As a reserve, Webber entered the game wearing an all-chrome makeup of the DaDa CDubbz. DaDa ultimately released this sneaker to the tune of only 1,000 pairs, and each one was individually numbered. Although the DaDa CDubbz ranked very low in the performance category, many were enamored with its one-of-a-kind design elements.

Year: 2003

Complex Says: In honor of MJ's last All-Star Game, Kobe Bryant laced up the "True Blue" Air Jordan III in the 2003 NBA All-Star Game. In the IIIs, he flirted with a triple double scoring 22 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing out six assists.

Player: LeBron James

Year: 2010

Complex Says: A record-setting 108,173 fans packed into the newly-designed Cowboys Stadium for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. But the people farthest from the court still could see LeBron James' sneakers. He wore the 'Chlorine Blue' Nike Air Max LeBron VII while scoring 25 points and dishing out six assists. Many labeled the 'Chlorine Blue' Nike Air Max LeBron VII "All-Star" the best colorway of LeBron's seventh signature model.

Player: Scottie Pippen

Year: 1994

Complex Says: Scottie Pippen proved he could stand on his own two feet by becoming a solidified superstar in the season Michael Jordan retired. He was a star amongst stars in the 1994 NBA All-Star Game, scoring 29 points and grabbing 11 rebounds while taking home MVP honors. His sneaker selection was the ever-so-popular, predominately red Nike Air Maestro. Although the Nike Air Maestro is not an official Scottie Pippen signature shoe, it is closely associated with the Hall of Famer.

Player: Rasheed Wallace

Year: 2001

Complex Says: Rasheed Wallace was undoubtedly the loudest player on the court during the 2001 NBA All-Star Game, and we're not talking about technical fouls. Sheed laced up an all-red patent leather Air Force 1 Hi. Three years later, Nike officially released this patent leather prize to the public.
