We’ve already learned that the popular Nike Air Trainer 1 will soon return to stores in its original “Chlorophyll” colorway but the brand has more in store for longtime fans of the cross-trainer.
South Africa-based retailer Lemkus_ on Instagram shared images of the forthcoming Air Trainer 1 release that’s dressed in the White/Midnight Navy colorway. The style closely resembles the original White/Medium Grey/Dark Royal Blue makeup as pictured in the Nike catalog below.
This white and dark blue makeup of the Air Trainer 1 was originally released in 1988. Retro Air Trainer 1s in ‘94 and 2002 mimicked the color blocking but replaced the blue with black, making this 2022 iteration the first true reissue of the original.
According to Lemkus_, the Air Trainer 1 in the White/Midnight Navy colorway will be released overseas this Saturday, April 2 for R2199,00, which converts to $150. Grab a closer look below as we await the official word on the stateside drop.
UPDATE (07/04): Nike has confirmed that the OG-styled “Midnight Navy” Air Trainer 1 will be released on July 16 via SNKRS and at select retailers for $125. Grab a detailed look below.
