For the third year in a row, eBay is highlighting one of the most influential women in sneaker culture for International Women’s Day. This time, the platform is focusing on sneaker insider Joy Claire for a new auction featuring shoes from her collection.
Ahead of this year’s International Women’s Day, which is observed annually on March 8, eBay confirmed it has partnered with Claire to auction off 50 pairs of coveted sneakers from her collection. Some of Claire’s most notable work in the sneaker industry include developing the first female-designed skate shoe with Supra and being Undefeated’s first female employee.
A few of the notable sneakers that will be up for grabs in the “From the Collection: Joy Claire” auction include the NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra from Drake’s personal collection, the first run of Undefeated x Nike Air Max 97s, the Off-White x Converse Chuck Taylors, and a custom Python Air Jordan 4s made by the Shoe Surgeon.
“Every sneaker tells a story, and the pairs in this collection commemorate breaking down barriers and insisting on better representation within sneaker culture,” Claire said. “I’m partnering with eBay to bring this sneaker history to their passionate community, while raising money for a cause that inspires me and supports women around the world.”
Readers who are interested to bid on the sneakers will be able to do so starting on March 8 at ebay.com/joyclaire at 12 p.m. ET. The proceeds from the sales will benefit the Downtown Women’s Center in support of women facing homelessness.
