Vans has teamed up with renowned Chinese artist Chen Yingjie to co-create a special footwear collection to commemorate the Year of the Tiger.
According to Vans, the capsule pictured here draws inspiration from Chen’s famous artwork “Stay Hungry,” which combined urban streets and natural elements and appears on the sneakers in the form of splashed ink, oracle bone inscriptions, and city street signs. The collection features new iterations of the classic Authentic,Sk8-Hi, and the Old Skool. The latter silhouette of the group will be available in two different colorways including dressed in artwork hand-drawn by Chen and another pair sporting the “Stay Hungry” slogan.
The “Year of the Tiger” capsule from Vans and Chen will extend beyond footwear and will include a matching long-sleeve t-shirt and a workwear jacket.
The Chen Yingjie x Vans “Year of the Tiger” collection is available now at Vans.com and at select Vans stockists starting today, Feb. 1.
