It’s that time of the year again—scary movies on TV and Halloween parties in full swing. It’s the only holiday where girls can wear anything short and call it a costume. People start picking out their costumes months in advance, and one of the things often overlooked is the sneakers.
Of course, that was the first thing on our minds, so we had to show the sneakerheads some love on this glorious holiday. FYI: We advise you not to wear your good kicks when you go to those haunted houses in case you piss your pants. The list is filled with bloods, guts, and of course the occasional horror movie reference. So check out 13 Awesome Halloween-Themed Sneakers.
Reebok Omni Lite Pump "Halloween"
What's so scary about a jack-o-lantern? Not much. Then again, these Reebok Pumps glow in the dark and are "Swag Orange." Be very afraid. Plus, you can still pick these up for retail if you act quick. Not sure about getting them today, though.
Nike Dunk Low Pro SB "Black Pack"
The Nike SB Low Black Packs were released back in 2005, in October no less. So it's safe to say that they're a Halloween sneaker. The black shoe with a classic gum sole gets a pop of seasonal color with some orange laces.
Nike Dunk High Pro SB "Unlucky"
What day is more unlucky than Halloween? Well maybe Friday the 13th. The unlucky number 13 is stitched on the side of the shoe in an old English font. Another shoe that seems to be related to the mass murderer formerly known as Jason Voorhees.
Nike Dunk High Pro SB "Melvins"
The Melvins SBs are arguably one of the most sought-after SBs since their release in 2005. The punk/rock band The Melvins designed two pairs of the now famous kicks. The black pair features embossed script on the side panels which are hard to read and a skull and crossbones on the toebox. Meanwhile, the white canvas pair looks as if you've stepped in a few inches of blood. Creepy.
Nike Air Force 1 Premium "Frankenstein"
These came out back in 2006, when Nike was constantly cranking out different colorways of the Air Force 1. The two shades of green represent Frank's enormous head and the silver Swoosh represents the bolts on the sides of that enormous head and neck. The coolest feature is the orange stitches on the toe box, which can also be found on his enormous head.
Nike Dunk Low Pro SB "Day of The Dead"
El Dia De Los Muertos is the official name of these kicks, a celebration in Mexico that remembers loved ones who have passed on. The holiday is celebrated on November 1 and 2, making these the perfect kicks to rock for Halloween and beyond.
Nike Dunk High Pro SB "Jason Voorhees"
Jason Voorhees is one of the scariest horror movie characters and these SBs named after him take on a few of his style cues. The white comes from his hockey mask and the red comes from of the blood on his hands. The toe box looks as if it is stained with blood, and is said to change with wear.
Nike Air Trainer 1 "Dawn of the Dead"
Also part of the Horror pack were these Air Trainer 1 "Dawn of the Dead" joints. There are no crazy designs on these kicks, but the colorway comes from the poster of the no-budget 1978 cult classic horror movie of the same name.
Nike Dunk Low Pro SB "Pushead"
Brian Schroeder (a.k.a. Pushead) is an artist, or that's at least one of his many hats. He's credited with creating album covers for the likes of Metallica, The Misfits, and even Dr. Dre. The designs on the shoe are creepy enough, until you see the bloody eye on the insoles staring at you. The only thing creepier than the shoe is probably the box, which is a work of art in and of itself.
Patta x Nike Air Max 90 "Homegrown" (Hyperstrike)
If you don't want to wear a costume, just throw on some pumpkin-orange kicks to get in the holiday spirit. Patta is known for their dope sneaker collab, but these were on another level. The regular pair of Homegrowns were hard enough to get, but these were a friends and family exclusive, so keep dreaming.
Nike SB Blazer "Blood Splatter"
Back in 2009 Nike SB released a Blazer High with a white canvas and grey suede accents. The red lining and tongue tab go great with the blood splatters on the sides.
Nike Dunk Low Pro SB "Freddy Krueger"
Part of the Horror pack from Nike SB, the Krueger's featured an insole that resembling Freddy's skin. On the outside, you've got your typical blood splatter and the famous red and green striped sweater pattern. The chrome Swoosh also resembles his claws. These never made it to retail, so prepare to spend a lot.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu x adidas Originals Superstar "Enamel Drip"
These released on Friday the 15th (of this past March), but rightfully should have been kept on ice until today. The whole "enamel drip" name isn't fooling anybody either, Kyary, we know blood when we see it.
