Nike will go the storytelling route on this upcoming Air More Uptempo retro, a sneaker colored with the New York Knicks' orange and blue.

Why the Empire State color palette? The shoe references Scottie Pippen's epic dunk on Patrick Ewing with an insole graphic recreating the moment. The shoes also have "33" on the back, a dual reference to both Pippen and Ewing.

While this "Knicks" Air More Uptempo was originally rumored to release on Sept. 19, the sneaker release date calendars of big box stores now show the shoes as arriving on Sept. 23.
