These Pumas Reference a David Lynch Classic

A collab for film buffs.

Today is a good day for David Lynch fans, who are wildly sharing the cast list announced for his resurrected cult classic TV show Twin Peaks.

For fans of Lynch's silver screen output there's this, a two-shoe set that references 1986's Blue Velvet. The sneakers, designed in collaboration with Malaysian store Crossover, nod to the film with rose hits connected to its opening scene. The Puma Disc Blaze from the set also works in a reference to the oxygen mask worn by Dennis Hopper in the film with its translucent construction.

While we respect Crossover's choices on these two, it feels like a slight miss to not include a flesh-colored shoe standing in for the severed ear found by Kyle MacLachlan in the film.

The Puma Blaze of Glory from this set is available now here, while the Disc Blaze releases on May 7.
