“I chose to partner with adidas because, as you will experience today, adidas is a brand that enables creators to create.”
Kanye West, who recently compared his partnership with adidas to getting the oxygen necessary to breathe, unveiled Yeezy Season 1 during a fashion show in New York City today. The event, which was streamed at theaters in 13 countries, showcased the first pieces from West's first adidas collection. In addition to seeing looks pieced together with the much talked about Yeezy 750 Boost sneaker, a low-top with similar tooling surfaced, rumored to also be linked to West.
Yeezy Season 1 drew the biggest names in entertainment, including the Kardashian family, Jay Z, Beyonce, Diddy, Justin and Rihanna. Even Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour stopped by for a look.
Immediately after the show, West officially announced open reservations for the Yeezy 750 Boost, which is now closed.
