Despite many contending that Carmelo Anthony still belongs on an NBA roster, the future Hall of Famer called an end to his storied 19-year career this past May. He leaves the game a 10-time All-Star, 6-time All-NBA, 2013 Scoring Champion, and 3-time Olympic Gold Medalist, in addition to the NCAA Championship he won at Syracuse to stamp his name on the map. To celebrate Melo's road to retirement, Jordan Brand gifted their day one superstar a commemorative pack of Air Jordan 2s.
A throwback to one of Anthony's earliest Player Exclusives and subsequent retail release, the pack consists of Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks-inspired colorways, paying homage to the two most notable cities in which he played. Both pairs feature quilted interiors and gold hardware, the latter a tribute to Anthony's Olympic medals. The shoes are packaged in a special box lined with graphics that shout out his accomplishments and personas, including the crowd favorite "Hoodie Melo."
As of now, this pair is exclusive to Anthony and won't be available to purchase.
