You already know that Skechers is having a huge year — in May, we reported that the brand is actually moving more sneakers than adidas, and one footwear industry insider is predicting that this is only the beginning.

According to Matt Powell of the NPD Group, Skechers is on track to top Jordan Brand in 2015. Keep in mind that this doesn't include Nike's profits and is based on a global perspective, which means we won't necessarily notice a major shift first-hand in the U.S.

Powell estimates that Jordan Brand will bring in around $2.5 billion in 2015, while Skechers will top that with more than $3 billion. Let this serve as a reminder that sneakerhead trends are just a small fraction of a massive industry.
