Wearable tech is an growing industry in the workout space, with new products popping up on the daily. Suunto, is a global leader in this area, producing some of the top sports instruments in the world, including their featured product, the Suunto Ambit2 watch. Today, a partnership was announced with Strava, an online network connecting athletes, which will allow members to share and compare their GPS-tracked activities with friends.
With the Suunto Ambit2 watch comes in three models, depending on how many features you want. Each Ambit2 watch includes a GPS tracker, multisport capabilities, heart rate monitor, and even a weather functions to keep you dry and out of harms way. Other models like the Ambit2 S, and Ambit2 R, have optimized features specially designed for them such as improved multisport fuctions, or optimized GPS tracking for runners.
To celebrate the partnership, Suunto and Strava are launching the Suunto Sisu Challenge, an invitation for members to push their limits, and run 40 miles between May 17 and June 1.
“This partnership between Suunto and Strava has been requested by Suunto fans and we are delighted to be able to offer this to running and cycling enthusiasts,” says Janne Kallio, head of digital marketing at Suunto. “It provides a great new added value for all Suunto owners and gives Strava members a new range of product options. I can't wait to start racing with my Suunto Ambit2 in local Strava segments.”
All workout info is directly recorded into Suunto's online sports community, Movescount.com, and can be compared with friends to help motivate them to the next level.
The Suunto Ambit2 watch is currently available on their website for $249-$299, depending on which model you opt for.
